Solu^cham covers a portion of the costs based on the content and duration of the assignment.
Solu-Khumbu district is one of the 77 districts of Nepal; It belongs to the Province of Koshi.
It is located on the North-East of the country, bordering Tibet/China.
Divided in 1 Municipality ( SoluDudhkunda) and 7 gaunpalikas ( Rural Municipalities), the district hasits headquarters in Salleri and counts a superficy of 3312km2 and a population of 106,000 .
The district ‘s extremely varied geography can be divided into three areas :
This section includes some of the tallest mountains on earth such as Mount Everest ( Sagarmatha in Nepali , Chomolungma in Sherpa) at 8848m, Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8485m), Cho Oyu(8201m) and is located on Tibetan border on the north. Population is very scarce, when any.
This section stretches between 2500m and 5000m of altitude and is a very popular area for trekking and hiking.
Largest Ethnic groups are Sherpas and Kulung.
It encompasses the main villages of Namche Bazaar, Thame, Khumjung, Pangboche, Pheriche, Lukla(airport) as well as the well-known Buddhist Monastery of Tengboche.
Spreading between 600m and the foothills of Numbur Himal (6959m), Solu is more populated as valleys are of lower altitude than Khumbu ( mainly between 1500 & 3000m).
Solu is not beneficiating yet from the revenues of tourism such as Khumbu does, but has developed some interesting agriculture.
Sherpas are common residents of this area, along with Rai, Tamang and Chetris.
Main villages are Salleri ( headquarter of District), Phaplu (airport), Sotang, Junbesi, Ringmo, Thingla and Kangel.

READ MOREAs we are currently developing partnerships with some schools and universities , we are looking at organizing as from 2024 , discovery trips for the foreign students , particularly from schools sharing the similar cursus as the ones we will propose in the Numbur Vocational Training Center (NVTC) in Salleri.
